Celebrating a decade of love in Lagos, Portugal

I’m very excited to share this visual diary of our trip to Lagos, Portugal, a few weeks ago. A special mini vacay, as my boy and I celebrated our tenth anniversary. Whoosh, a decade of love! After browsing for quite some time to find the perfect destination to celebrate this huge milestone, we stumbled upon hotel Casa Mãe on Instagram. We immediately fell in love with the clean aesthetics of the white building and serene rooms. When we saw it included a bath for your own, a triangle pool, delicious organic foods and its location close to the beaches, we decided to go for it. And wow, what a place! But more about Casa Mãe later in a single post. First up is this visual diary of all the sweet memories we made together. Lagos really mesmerised us. A lovely small town with picturesque houses, narrow roads and beautiful nature and scenery… and good food :). If you ever look for a not so touristy place in the Algarve, Lagos is your way to explore …

How to style your jeans | three ways

Yep, that’s me. Wearing jeans. Three times! Somehow I almost never wear denim as I prefer wide, comfy and oversized trousers. But for once I decided to make some exceptions because every girl needs a pair of good jeans, right? I’m always struggling to find the perfect fit because I have legs for days. I know this is something people might get jaleous off, but believe me, it’s not always fun. Wether the denim is too short, or I can swim in it with the upper part being too loose for me. So yes, finding that perfect pair isn’t that easy for me. So when FIVEUNITS – a Danish jeans brand from Copenhagen – approached me for a fun collab, I serously had my doubts. Not because of the brand, but considering the denim drama I just described. Eventually I was convinced to give it a try, and guess what. I’m really glad I did! Why? The jeans I picked don’t only fit my personal style, but also my tall tall legs. After this huge …

Tourist in your own hometown

Spending a night away in your own hometown as a tourist, is something I’ve always wanted to experience. It allows you to see the city where you grew up, from a different point of view. So when the new Student Hotel invited us for a night over, my boy & I obviously couldn’t resist. The Student Hotel recently opened their doors in Eindhoven, and now welcomes everyone to their hybrid utopia. Not only students as you might think, but also curious city-explorers, tourists, young professionals and locals. This new presence didn’t go unnoticed. As a matter of fact: you could call them the new eyecatcher in our ‘skyline’. The building points almost 80 metres into the sky, which makes it an impressive appearance. They host different facilities; from a gym to a library, long & short-stay rooms, lounge spots and bar-restaurant The Pool for some appetizing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh, and cocktails! So Jordi and I grabbed some stuff together (what do you pack for one night when living around the corner?) and checked-in …

Swedish melancholy

Normally I’m not a fan of those rainy days, but I really start to like them lately… When I see the dark clouds coming in, I’ve noticed my heart makes a little jump. And that’s probably because it’s a reason for me to pull out this pink raincoat by the Swedish Stutterheim. Known by their beautiful handmade raincoats, which are always a timeless and simple reflection. Even though they aim for functional rainwear, they always make it a lust for the eye as well. I paired this Mosebacke model with a simple grey culotte and soft sweater with the same pastel tones. A simple but outstanding Spring look for the unexpected Dutch weather. So hey. Let’s embrace the rain ;) Wearing | Stutterheim Mosebacke raincoat | H&M Studio sweater | Monki culottes | The Boyscouts necklace | &Other Stories earrings |
