A night at Stroom Rotterdam

A few days ago Jordi and I spent a night at the lovely Stroom Rotterdam hotel. We were up for a little get-away to enjoy Art Rotterdam, we thought it would be fun to add a sleep-over as well. After looking around I came across Stroom Rotterdam, and it seemed to be the perfect stay for our short sleep-over. The hotel has this natural industrial vibe as it used to be a electricity (‘stroom’ in Dutch) factory during the beginning of the 20th century. They def succeed at keeping remains of their history, while combining with a modern interior. We stayed at a split level studio which felt a bit as a home, like, I could really live here. Think of a huge bath, two rain showers (!), a Smeg fridge, coffee machine, Rituals products, a boxspring bed and two tv’s. You can image we were not bored. At all. One night was way too short, obviously! We enjoyed Rotterdam at its best, even though we had to conquer the freezing temperatures and snow. Next …

Native Youth x Un-Cluttered x Bien Philty

Last Summer my boyfriend (Jordi aka Bien Philty) and I were asked to create a series for Native Youth’s Spring/Summer ’17 collection. We decided to link up with each other and created this special editorial with us in the lead. Shot last Summer already, but finally able to share the whole thing with you after a few teasers on my Instagram. So weird but cool at the same time to see us starring in an editorial together. We did everything by ourselves: from styling to finding the perfect location, the photography (hello self-timer experiment) and the editing part. Inspired by the graphic lines of the architecture, we tried to blend in the clothing with the environment. We had so much fun while doing this, and we’re really happy with the results! Check out the images below and read more about this collab including a quick interview here and here. Enjoy! Puffer coats & pink walls

Lately I’ve been living in my puffer coat. It’s not only super warm but also looks cozy AF. Some people will never understand this style and throw questions at me like: ‘why are you wearing your bed cover’, or ‘jacket where are you taking the girl?’. Something with Dutch people and fasjun. But seriously, it’s a lifesaver during wintertime. I paired it up with an adidas performance track pants and my New Balance runners. This must be the most comfortable outfit ever if you ask me :) Wearing | H&M puffer coat | adidas performance track pants | New Balance 990 GL3 sneakers | Susan Bijl Nylon bag |

Museum Voorlinden

A few weeks ago I was finally able to visit Museum Voorlinden, a contemporary art museum in Wassenaar. Officially opened in September 2016, showcasing Joop van Caldenborgh’s private collection. Also known as the Caldic Collection, the biggest private art collection of The Netherlands. The Caldic Collection involves pieces collected since the early seventies, and consists of paintings, sculptures, collages and photography works from the 20th century. Think of names like Ai WeiWei, Damien Hirst, James Turrell (Skyspace), Richard Serra (Open Ended) and Ron Mueck (Couple under an umbrella). Next to the continiously collection, they also host temporarily exhibitions. The time I visited the museum brought an ode to artist Ellsworth Kelly, known for his large format paintings in clear shape and colours. The first solo exhibition of the American artist in The Netherlands since 1979. (It’s still on display until January 8 if you like to experience). In addition to works of famous artists, the museum also impresses with its architecture. Designed by Dirk Jan Postel from Kraaijvanger, the building exists of two layers (upper …
